Agewell® is an intergenerational company providing a multi-generational audience with community, experiences, and tools for meaningful aging. Our purpose is to deepen insight and strengthen resilience in body, mind and relationships with others throughout the phases of life. Our offerings are focused around community, experiences and tools for what’s next.
Established in 1990, we were created to be a trusted professional resource providing expertise in clinical, research and education in aging. For well over a generation, professionals at Agewell® has been treating medical problems as well as geriatric mental health issues in the hospitals, nursing homes, extended care facilities and speciality clinics. Thousands have turned to Agewell® for treatment of geriatric syndromes, for participation in clinical research, and for information about a holistic approach to problems that arise with age. We continue to specialize in counseling for a wide variety of problems of aging — including memory problems and memory enhancement.
Stephen Rappaport, M.D.
Dr. Rappaport was one of the earliest specialists to be fellowship trained and board-certified in Geriatric Medicine. He is an expert in diseases of aging as well as geriatric wellness, the healthcare system, and complex medical problems. Dr. Rappaport is a nationally-known medical consultant, clinical researcher, and educator. He has presented to medical, professional, and educational audiences throughout the United States.
Dr. Rappaport has served as principal investigator for numerous clinical research trials in arthritis, depression, urinary problems, memory loss, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease—including many of the most widely used medications of the past three decades. His papers have been published in national, peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Rappaport’s contributions have been recognized by professional organizations, aging advocacy groups and government agencies. He served on the Clinical Practice and Public Policy Committees of the American Geriatrics Society. He was president of the Indiana Geriatrics Society and chairman of the state home care board overseeing the CHOICE program that allowed thousands of people to remain in their own homes and avoid nursing homes. He pioneered the evaluation of drivers with memory problems as a founding physician of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles Medical Advisory Board.
Dr. Rappaport completed fellowship training in Geriatric Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He has been a clinical faculty member at Indiana University School of Medicine for over 30 years.
Katie Rappaport
As an expert in experiential marketing, she helps people move beyond advertising to gain meaningful new experiences that truly impact daily life. Her experiential creative & strategy expertise has been sought by companies ranging from specialty agencies to well known media startups to Fortune 500 companies. She is currently a Creative Director at Condé Nast in New York City.
She is passionate about building teams, harnessing individual purpose, understanding time and the vast array of approaches we take to live better lives. As an End of Life Doula, Katie focuses on legacy, meaning and perspective in all forms of life. Katie Rappaport has degrees in Sociology/Anthropology, and Communication from DePauw University.
